First of all, let me dedicate a tribute to one of those men who have made a great art film, the outstanding Swedish cinematographer Sven Nykvist, discovered by Alf Sjöberg but remembered mainly for its glorious unique collaborations with Ingmar Bergman. Without their expertise, the work of brilliant Scandinavian director would never have become what it is. Circus Night , The Virgin Spring, Persona , Hour of the Wolf and especially Cries and Whispers and Fanny and Alexander , whose work in both films get Oscar-category awards are the most outstanding samples that expertise is always earned the highest praise and she attracted other directors likes of Roman Polanski, Louis Malle and Woody Allen, with whom he collaborated on Celebrity . Today, 22 September, just two days left us , at the age of 83 years, and all movie lovers mourn his irreparable loss. Only we have the consolation of his work, perfect and unfading.
Wherever you are, thanks!
